Man United transfers: Louis van Gaal discusses potential signings
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal discusses reports that the Red Devils will sign a new striker this summer
Louis van Gaal has hinted that Manchester United will sign a striker before the end of the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils have been linked with a move for a host of Europe’s top strikers following Netherlands international Robin van Persie’s £4.7m switch to Turkish side Fenerbahce earlier this month and Radamel Falcao’s exit.

Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke is one name that has been linked with a move to Old Trafford, although Liverpool have reportedly made a £32.5m bid, whilst Edinson Cavani is reportedly another United target.
But Van Gaal, who has signed four players in the summer transfer window so far, was tight-lipped on any potential targets despite confirming that a striker is top of his list.
“He’s in the process, but you have to wait and see,” Van Gaal told a news conference on Monday.
“It’s not the striker that the media has written. The transfer period is open until 31 August or 2 September.”
The Dutchman recently revealed that Javier Hernandez may have a future at Old Trafford despite spending last season on loan at Real Madrid.
The Red Devils start their Premier League campaign with a home clash against Tottenham Hotspur.
