The Spain international’s future has been a relentless source of uncertainty this summer, despite the player having signed a new contract with Barca back in June.
Manchester United and Liverpool are both said to be keen on luring the midfielder to the Premier League, with Arsenal also having been recently touted as a possible destination for the 27-year-old.
However, Barcelona star Suarez says that he is keen to see Pedro ignore the admiring glances from England and stay at Camp Nou to fight for a first-team place next season.
Suarez is quoted as saying by the Daily Star: “Pedro’s thing is an individual decision.
“He’s had many years at the club, he has won many titles and his decision will be respected, but as a team-mate, obviously, I want Pedro to stay because of the importance that he has on a group level.”
Pedro was limited to just 15 La Liga starts for Barcelona last season as the Spanish side won the Treble. He still managed to score six goals and make six assists in the Spanish top flight.
