Man United transfers: Robin van Persie still Red Devils player, says agent
Robin van Perise is set to return to Manchester United for pre-season despite transfer reports, says agent
Robin van Persie is still a Manchester United player despite reports of an imminent Old Trafford exit, according to his agent.
The Netherlands international has been linked with a move away from the 20-time English champions in recent weeks amid reported interest from Serie A side Inter Milan.
Turkish side Fenerbahce emerged as serious contenders for the 31-year-old’s signature in recent days after Van Persie endured a disappointing 2014/15 campaign.
However, the former Arsenal captain’s agent Kees Vos reiterated that Van Persie is set to report for pre-season training at the Red Devils.
“If Robin had found a new club, we would have announced it. And I’m in the Netherlands right now,” Vos is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.
“All I can say that tomorrow Robin will simply report at Manchester United for the first training session.”
Former Arsenal captain Van Persie joined United from the Gunners back in a £24m deal in the summer of 2012.
The Dutch striker helped to fire Sir Alex Ferguson’s men to the title before the Scot stood down as manager the following summer.
Van Persie has scored a respectable 57 goals in 105 appearances in all competitions during his three-year stay at Old Trafford.
