Man United transfers: Robin van Persie to join Fenerbahce
Robin van Persie looks set to join Fenerbahce from Manchester United this summer...
Robin van Persie has agreed a deal to join Fenerbahce according to the Turkish club’s chairman Aziz Yildirim.
The Manchester United striker, who has struggled for form since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson, had been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford this pre-season.
And the Fenerbahce official Yildirim now seems confident that the deal is all set to be announced early next week.
“We worked very hard, until midnight. We received five faxes, sent six faxes and finally it was finished,” Yildirim was quoted as saying by the Fanatik sports daily and Hurriyet newspaper
“The Van Persie transfer is done and one more star has joined the Fenerbahce constellation.”
The Netherlands striker joined the Old Trafford club from fierce rivals Arsenal in 2012 for a fee of over £20m, scoring 48 goals in 86 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils.
And he is sure to remain a part of United folklore after helping them seal the Premier League title in Sir Alex Ferguson’s final season at the helm of the club, including a last-ditch winner in a 3-2 triumph away at their neighbours Manchester City.
