Marsh: Schweinsteiger is Man United’s best signing in five years
Manchester City legend Rodney Marsh runs the rule over Manchester United signing Bastian Schweinsteiger
Bastian Schweinsteiger is Manchester United’s best signing of the past five years, according to Rodney Marsh.
The World Cup winner has signed a three-year deal with the 20-time English champions after United agreed a reported £15m deal with Bayern Munich at the weekend.
David Moyes broke the club’s transfer record to sign Juan Mata in a £37.1m deal from Chelsea in 2013 before his successor Louis van Gaal smashed the British transfer record to sign Angel di Maria for £59.7m from Real Madrid last summer.
However, former Manchester City man Marsh believes Schweinsteiger trumps both those signings as well as the likes of Robin van Persie and David De Gea.

Schweinsteiger immediately linked with his new team-mates ahead of their pre-season tour in United States.
The 30-year-old joined new signings Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay on the flight with the Red Devils squad.
The German legend won eight Bundesliga titles during his Bayern career.
