Liverpool have completed the signing of Christian Benteke in a £32.5m deal from Aston Villa.
The 24-year-old Belgium international has signed a long-term contract with the Merseyside club and has become their seventh signing of the summer.
Here is a selection of the best Twitter reaction to Liverpool’s second-most expensive signing.
Former Reds striker Neil Mellor (@NeilMellor33) endorsed Brendan Rodgers’s seventh summer signing on social media: “Seems to have been talked about for ages but at last Liverpool have got Benteke. A real attacking presence with a very good scoring return”
Retired Norwich City midfielder Darren Eadie (@eadie11) believes the Belgium striker will justify his price tag if Rodgers can keep his marquee signing fit: “If #LFC can keep him fit and more importantly interested, #Benteke is worth 32.5 million in my opinion.”
Meanwhile, former Chelsea defender Mario Melchiot is concerned for Tim Sherwood’s Aston Villa side moving forward.
