Alexis Sanchez is clearly looking forward to joining up with his Arsenal team-mates

Alexis Sanchez is clearly looking forward to the new season as he prepares to join up with his Arsenal team-mates following his extended summer holiday.

The 26-year-old has been enjoying some well-earned downtime in his native homeland of Chile after helping his country secure Copa America glory early this month.

However, it seems that his club is not far from his mind as he looks forward to rejoining the Gunners on Monday after his extended break.

Sanchez shared the picture above on his Instagram account and wrote: “Gunners 👏⚽️…”

Sanchez endured a gruelling debut campaign in England after joining Arsenal from Barcelona last summer, helping Arsene Wenger’s men finish third and retain their FA Cup crown before his involvement in the Copa America.

The Chile international, who joined Arsenal from Barcelona last summer, is set to miss the Gunners’ Premier League opener against West Ham United on 9 August his extended summer break.

Arsenal are in action against Chelsea in the Community Shield on Sunday.
