Arsenal confirm Santi Cazorla and Theo Walcott have penned new deals with the FA Cup winners
Santi Cazorla and Theo Walcott have both signed new contract extensions, Arsenal have confirmed.
England international Walcott had been linked with a move to Liverpool in recent months after the striker’s talks with the Gunners appeared to have stalled.
However, Walcott, who is Arsenal’s longest-serving player following his move from Southampton in 2006, has scored 76 goals for the north London side in the past 13 years.
Spain international Cazorla, who was one of the FA Cup winners’s outstanding performers last season, had also been linked with a potential return to La Liga.
The 30-year-old playmaker has netted 27 times in 148 games in all competitions following his switch to Emirates Stadium from Malaga in 2012.
Arsenal posted the above photo on their Instagram page and wrote the following status: “Both @theowalcott and @santicazorla have committed their futures to #Arsenal after agreeing to contract extensions. #COYG #Gunners”
Cazorla and Walcott both scored in Arsenal’s 4-0 victory over Aston Villa at Wembley in the FA Cup final in May.
The Gunners face Chelsea in the Community Shield on Sunday.
