Alexis Sanchez took to social media on Thursday night to reflect on his Copa America triumph with Chile this year.

The Arsenal star helped to fire his country to their first major international title thanks to their penalty shootout win over Argentina earlier this month.

Sanchez is now enjoying an extended summer holiday after a gruelling first campaign in the Premier League, as he helped Arsenal win the FA Cup.

And the 26-year-old forward posted the picture above of himself posing with the trophy on his Instagram account as his Throwback Thursday post and wrote: “copa America 2015 …”

The Chile international, who joined Arsenal from Barcelona last summer, is set to miss the Gunners’ Premier League opener against West Ham United on 9 August after being given an extended summer break.

He is not due to report back to Arsenal for pre-season training until 3 August following his summer holiday.

Most of his Arsenal team-mates, meanwhile, will be in action in the Emirates Cup at their home ground this weekend as they continue their pre-season preparations ahead of their Community Shield clash against Chelsea on 2 August.
