Daley Blind was quick to congratulate Memphis Depay after the Manchester United signing scored his first Red Devils goal in a 3-1 victory over San Jose Earthquakes on Tuesday night.

The Netherlands international doubled the 13-time Premier League champions’s lead after former Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata had broken the deadlock against the Major League Soccer outfit.

Brazilian youngster Andreas Pereira emulated Depay and bagged his maiden United goal with a header after half-time to seal a second successive victory for Louis van Gaal’s men stateside.

And Blind, who has played alongside Depay with the Dutch national team, congratulated the £25m summer signing and 19-year-old Pereira on their respective goals.

Blind wrote on his Instagram page: “Thanks for al the support, on to the next game! Congrats @andreaspereira44 and @memphisdepay with their first goal! @manchesterunited #MUtour #MUFC”

Depay, who moved to United from Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven in May, took to Instagram to post a photo of his celebrations with captain Wayne Rooney after his strike.

Depay posted: “My first goal for Manchester United!”

The Netherlands international scored 22 goals in 28 league appearances as he helped PSV end Ajax’s dominance in Eredivisie last season.
