Filipe Luis was happy to back at his home after the defender swapped Chelsea for Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.

The Brazil international’s return to the Vicente Calderon comes 12 months after he moved to the west London side from Los Rojiblancos in a £19.5m last summer.

However, Filipe Luis struggled to dislodge first-choice left-back Cesar Azpilicueta from Jose Mourinho’s first-term despite his big-money summer move.

And the 29-year-old was clearly delighted to be back at Atletico after he uploaded a snap with his young family posing next to the La Liga outfit’s club badge.

Filipe Luis wrote: “Home! Congrats!”

The South American defender made 15 appearances in the Premier League last season as Mourinho’s men won the Premier League title and League Cup.

Filipe Luis was part of Diego Simeone’s side that won La Liga and finished as Champions League runners-up in the 2013/14 campaign.

The Brazilian scored one goal in 26 games in all competitions last season.
