Liverpool striker Christian Benteke trains with some of his new Reds team-mates at Melwood for the first time
Christian Benteke wasted no time getting to know some of his new team-mates after the Liverpool signing trained at Melwood less than 24 hours following his £32.5m move.
The Belgium international put pen to paper on a long-term contract with the five-time European champions after Liverpool made the forward their third-most expensive signing in their history.
The 24-year-old appeared to hit it off with Fabio Borini and Emre Can as the trio posed for a photo along with a Liverpool coach during the session on Thursday.
Brazil international Philippe Coutinho and fellow summer signing Roberto Firmino also joined in the training session.
Benteke is Brendan Rodgers’s seventh summer signing after he snapped up Manchester City midfielder James Milner, Burnley striker Danny Ings and Bolton goalkeeper Adam Bogdan on free transfers.
The Northern Irishman also signed the club’s second most-expensive signing in the shape of Brazil international Firmino, who joined in a £29m deal from Hoffenheim.
While he added England defender Nathaniel Clyne and Charlton Athletic youngster Joe Gomez to his new-look squad.
Most of the Liverpool squad are currently in Kuala Lumpar for the club’s pre-season tour.
