Manchester United defender Luke Shaw reflects on the first training session of the 2015/16 campaign
Luke Shaw enjoyed training with Memphis Depay for the first time after the Manchester United defender posted a snap from their pre-season workout on Monday.
The 21-year-old winger penned a long-term deal with the Red Devils after United agreed a £25m fee with Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven ahead of the likes of Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain.
The Netherlands international is Louis van Gaal’s only signing of the summer transfer window so far, although the 20-time English champions have been heavily linked with Shaw’s former Southampton team-mate Morgan Schneiderlin.
The England left-back was deep in discussion with Eredivisie winner Depay in the above photo which was taken during their training session at Carrington on Monday.
Shaw wrote on his Instagram page: “Good session back with all the lads today and good to be training with Memphis for the first time! Looking forward to the #MUTour starting next week”
The 20-year-old full-back endured an injury-hit first season at United following his £27m move from the Saints last summer.
Shaw made 20 appearances in all competitions and earned particular praise for his performance in a 1-0 defeat by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in April.
