Daley Blind has paid tribute to Robin van Persie ahead of the striker’s move to Fenerbahce from Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

The Netherlands international is set to pen a deal with the Turkish side after the Red Devils agreed a £4.7m fee with Fenerbahce for his transfer.

Van Persie was a key part of Sir Alex Ferguson’s title-winning side in 2013, but he struggled to have an impact under Louis van Gaal last term.

His fellow Netherlands international Blind, who moved to United from Ajax last summer, was quick to post an Instagram message for Van Persie on Sunday.

Blind wrote: “Thanks for everything @robinvanpersie Wish you all the best with your new adventure!! ”

Van Persie confirmed his imminent move on his Instagram page and post a photo ahead of his flight to Turkey to seal a move to Fenerbahce.

Dutch legend Patrick Kluivert uploaded a post dedicated to the former Arsenal captain on the photo-sharing app ahead of the next chapter in the striker’s career.

Kluivert posted: “I wish u all the best with your new adventure my friend @robinvanpersie #fenerbache”

The 31-year-old forward scored 10 goals in 22 Premier League games under Van Gaal last term.
