Robin van Persie pays tribute to both Arsenal and Manchester United after completing his transfer to Fenerbahce
Robin van Persie took to social media to pay tribute to both Arsenal and Manchester United after the striker departed the Premier League to join Turkish outfit Fenerbahce.
The striker completed his move to the Istanbul club on Tuesday after days of speculation suggesting that he had been deemed surplus to requirements at the Old Trafford club.
And Van Persie was quick to pay tribute to both of his former English employers via a post on social media.
Van Persie posted the picture montage above on his Instagram account and wrote: “After 11 great years in the Premier League, I have taken on a new challenge at Fenerbahce!!
“Really excited to get started and get to know the beautiful city of Istanbul.
“Thank you to all the fans, who have supported me through the years, thank you Arsenal and thank you Manchester United. Wish you all the best.”
Van Persie won the Premier League title in his first season at Manchester United following his controversial move to Old Trafford from Arsenal but endured a largely disappointing season during Louis van Gaal’s first campaign in charge at the club.
The 31-year-old scored 10 Premier League goals for the Red Devils last season as United finished fourth in the top-flight table.
