Bastian Schweinsteiger and Memphis Depay train for the second day on Manchester United's pre-season tour in Seattle

Memphis Depay couldn’t keep a smile from his face as Manchester United trained on the second day of their pre-season tour of United States in Seattle.

The Netherlands international was put through a physical session as the 21-year-old looked to impress Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal.

The Eredivisie winner showed off his close control during the workout as the United coaches examined their £25m signing’s attributes.

Bastian Schweinsteiger also featured heavily in the training session following the World Cup winner’s £15m move to United from Bayern Munich at the weekend.

Italy international Matteo Darmian followed his new captain Wayne Rooney’s lead during the workout as the Red Devils worked on their fitness ahead of their opener against Club America.

Real Madrid target David De Gea was also in action despite relentless reports linking the Spain international with a big-money move to The Bernabeu this summer.

The Red Devils face Club America on Saturday before their clash against San Jose Earthquakes next Wednesday.

Van Gaal’s side face treble winners Barcelona in their penultimate game of the tour before a clash against Paris Saint-Germain on 30 July.
