Olivier Giroud, Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere looked to be enjoying themselves as Arsenal’s squad were put through their paces ahead of this weekend’s Emirates Cup.

Arsene Wenger’s men continued their pre-season training regime on a wet and gloomy Friday morning at their London Colney training base.

Also pictured in action during the training session was summer signing Petr Cech, who joined the Gunners from Chelsea earlier this month, as Wenger kept a close eye on proceedings.

Arsenal are due to take on Lyon and Wolfsburg at their home ground in their annual curtain-raiser in north London.

Wenger’s side then take on Chelsea in the Community Shield at Wembley on 2 August.

The Gunners, who finished third in the Premier League last season, retained their FA Cup title with a 4-0 win over Aston Villa in May’s final at Wembley.

Here are some of the best pictures from Friday morning’s training session at a rain-soaked London Colney.
