Liverpool signing James Milner scores the winner in a 2-1 victory over Brisbane Rovers in Australia

James Milner scored his first goal for Liverpool after the midfielder’s late winner sealed a 2-1 victory over Brisbane Roar on Friday morning.

The Reds fell behind in the first half after Dimitri Petratos edged the home side ahead with an impressive finish past Simon Mignolet.

Liverpool were level before half-time after Lallana scored in successive pre-season friendlies thanks to a delightful curling effort.

The Reds, who were 4-0 winners against True Thai All Stars earlier this week, sealed back-to-back wins thanks to Milner.

The England international, who moved to Anfield on a free transfer from Manchester City on 1 July, beat a defender before lifting his finish over the Brisbane goalkeeper.

Liverpool forward Jordon Ibe came close to adding a third after the teenager was introduced at the half-time break.

The five-time European champions take on Adelaide United in Adelaide on Monday in their penultimate game of their tour of Asia and Australia.
