New Liverpool signings James Milner, Divock Origi and Nathaniel Clyne train with their new team-mates

James Milner, Nathaniel Clyne and Divock Origi all trained with their new Liverpool team-mates on Thursday, although mthe session was overshadowed by Raheem Sterling’s absence at Melwood.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the want-away England international phoned in sick for the second successive day amid reported interest from Manchester City and Manchester United.

However, there was still plenty of exciting talent on show as free transfer Milner was photographed training with his new Reds team-mates following his move from the two-time Premier League champions.

Clyne, meanwhile, got stuck into the session as the England defender looks to justify his £12m price tag, whilst also securing a starting spot in Brendan Rodgers’s first-team.

Liverpool fans have been waiting over a year to see Origi in action after the Reds agreed a £12m deal with Lille for the Belgium international before loaning the striker back to the Ligue 1 side last summer.

Despite his recent bereavement, Mario Balotelli took part in the training session as the Italy international looks to salvage his Anfield career.
