Bastian Schweinsteiger reflects on how times have changed following his move to Manchester United
Bastian Schweinsteiger took to social media to reflect on “how times change” on Wednesday following his transfer to Manchester United from Bayern Munich.
The German World Cup winner joined the Red Devils on Monday as Louis van Gaal moved to bolster his midfield options ahead of his second season in charge at the club.
Schweinsteiger came up against United assistant boss Ryan Giggs a number of times during his career, and the midfielder reflect on how it was strange to now be working with the Welshman with the Red Devils.
Schweinsteiger posted the picture above on his Instagram account and wrote: “How times change. In the old days we used to battle on the pitch in many tough matches…”
And he then shared the photo below of himself chatting to Giggs and added: “…Now we work together at @manchesterunited.”
The new United signing won eight Bundesliga titles, eight German Cups and the Champions League during a 14-year spell at Bayern Munich.
Schweinsteiger is United’s second signing of the summer after Memphis Depay completed £25m move to Old Trafford from PSV Eindhoven in April.
