Manchester United were afforded the chance to train at the prestigious Stanford University on Friday.

The Red Devils are gearing up for their next pre-season friendly on their tour of America on Saturday which sees Louis van Gaal’s side face Champions League holders Barcelona.

And one of the club’s co-chairman, Avie Glazer, who is the son of owner Malcolm, was in attendance as the United manager put his new-look squad through their paces at Stanford.

Bastian Schweinsteiger, who moved to Old Trafford from Bayern Munich in a £15m deal earlier this summer, chatted with the son of Malcom Glazer during the session.

Former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and retired England midfielder Bryan Robson also cast a watchful eye over the training session.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid target David De Gea trained with his team-mates despite speculation that he has agreed a contract with Los Blancos ahead of a return to the Spanish capital.

New United signing Memphis Depay was also in action as he looked to build on his first United goal in their 3-1 victory over San Jose Earthquakes earlier this week.
