Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is snapped deep in discussion with Bastian Schweinsteiger during training

Louis van Gaal was photographed deep in discussion with Bastian Schweinsteiger as Manchester United trained ahead of their clash against Barcelona.

The World Cup winner was heavily criticised by the Dutchman after his “bad” performance in a 3-1 victory over Major League Soccer outfit San Jose Earthquakes.

However, Van Gaal’s comments don’t appear to have affected their relationship after the Red Devils boss chatted with Schweinsteiger during Friday’s training.

United captain Wayne Rooney, who scored 12 goals in 29 Premier League games last term, appeared to work on the accuracy of his passing during the session.

Meanwhile, new Red Devils signing Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin were put through their paces during a tough workout at Avaya Stadium.

United have eased to back-to-back victories in their pre-season tour of United States so far after a 1-0 win against Club America was followed up by a 3-1 victory earlier this week.
