Thierry Henry: It’s very difficult for Olivier Giroud at Arsenal
Thierry Henry assesses Arsenal's attacking options ahead of the 2015-16 Premier League season
Thierry Henry admits that Olivier Giroud finds life “very difficult” at Arsenal when the striker is not scoring regularly.
Much has been made of Arsenal’s lack of cover up front in recent seasons, with Giroud leading the Gunners line on a number of occasions.
Henry feels that the Gunners are probably in need of another striker, but believes that Theo Walcott could do a job for Arsenal up front if needed.
Henry told Sky Sports: “Olivier Giroud alone there as a natural-born striker, it is difficult, because they say when he does not score, it is very difficult.
“Hopefully Theo Walcott could be the answer. You have a guy who you did not think was going to play as a striker, although he has been the talk of the town for a little while, him playing as a striker.”
Giroud recently said that he would seek to speak with Henry about his comments surrounding him after Henry suggested that Arsenal do need to sign another striker.
Arsenal, who are currently on tour in Singapore as they continue their pre-season preparations, have been linked with a big-money move for Napoli forward Gonzalo Higuain in recent days.
The Gunners kick off their Premier League campaign with a home clash against West Ham United on the opening weekend of the season.
