Tottenham star Harry Kane delighted to return to action
Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane reflects on their 2-1 defeat by MLS All Stars on Thursday morning
Harry Kane has taken to Twitter following Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat to the MLS All Stars on Thursday morning.
Goals from legendary duo Kaka and David Villa put the All Stars 2-0 up before Kane netted a fine individual goal for Spurs.
The England striker thanked fans on Twitter for a fantastic atmosphere despite the disappointing result.
“Felt great to be back out on the pitch again! Good test for us in tough conditions! Fans have been fantastic! Thank you. #MLSAllStar #COYS”
Kane has been used sparingly by Mauricio Pochettino so far this pre-season as the striker represented England at the Under-21 European Championships earlier in the summer.
After ample recovery time, Kane is back and his tweet clearly indicates that it felt good to be back on the pitch again and scoring goals.
His mazy run and powerful finish demonstrated that Kane could well replicate last season’s form for Tottenham during the coming campaign.
Pochettino is looking to strengthen his squad up-front as Sadio Berahino continues to be linked with the North London club. Many feel there was too much goal-scoring responsibility on Harry Kane last season as the striker looked exhausted during England’s bitterly disappointing U21 Euro campaign.
