Daniel Sturridge stepped up his rehabilitation from a hip operation with a sparring session on Wednesday.

The Liverpool striker is currently stateside as the England international works on his fitness following a hip operation near the end of the season.

Sturridge, who moved to Anfield from Chelsea in 2013, has posted various clips from his workout sessions at the gym in Boston over the past couple of weeks.

And the 25-year-old put on his boxing gloves for a sparring session as the Liverpool striker looked to improve his fitness ahead of the new season.

Sturridge posted the above clip on his Instagram page and urged his fans to check out the full video on his YouTube channel.

The England forward went under the knife at the start of May as he bids to be fit in time for next season.

Sturridge missed most of the last campaign with hip and calf injuries and made just seven Premier League starts for the Reds as Brendan Rodgers’ men finished sixth in the table.
