The 35-year-old midfielder completed a move to the Major League Soccer outfit earlier this summer after the England centurion opted to call time on his Liverpool career.
However, Gerrard has been upstaged by his former Liverpool team-mate Robbie Keane after the Galaxy captain scored successive hat-tricks in the past two weeks.
And the Republic of Ireland international has been overshadowing Gerrard on the training pitch, too, after Galaxy set four of their players an accuracy challenge.
