Arsenal 0 Liverpool 0: Petr Cech confident of title challenge
Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech says the Gunners have the quality to piece together a run to challenge for the title
Petr Cech says he is optimistic Arsenal can piece together a title challenge this season after a goalless draw with Liverpool at The Emirates.
The Czech Republic international, who moved to the Gunners from Chelsea in an £11m deal this summer, touched Philippe Coutinho’s effort onto the woodwork before he denied Christian Benteke at close range in the first half.
There are 35 more games to be played and plenty of points to win for us. We can put together a run

Arsenal had chances to score a winner after half-time, but Liverpool shot stopper Simon Mignolet thwarted Olivier Giroud and Aaron Ramsey in north London.
Speaking to Sky Sports following the stalemate, Cech explained why he still believes Arsenal are capable of launching a title bid despite a return of four points from a possible nine.
“Well I believe [Arsenal can challenge],” Cech said
“We didn’t have the start that we’d like to have. We have a bunch of players with a lot of quality, some with experience, some young players who are hungry to win trophies.
“I believe this team has the potential to do well. There are many things that are positives. There are 35 more games to be played and plenty of points to win for us. We can put together a run.”
Arsenal have failed to win a game at The Emirates in the Premier League this season after a 2-0 defeat by West Ham United in their opening game of the campaign.
