Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech embraces ‘hero’ status on Twitter
Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech is more than comfortable being Pier Morgan's 'new hero'
Petr Cech has welcomed his new hero status with celebrity Arsenal supporter Piers Morgan.
The former Daily Mirror editor has rarely had a positive word to say about Arsene Wenger and his Arsenal squad over the past couple of years.
But the arrival of Cech from an £11m deal from Premier League champions Chelsea has made Morgan rather more optimistic about the season ahead.
And the 50-year-old media figure took to Twitter to congratulate Cech on his performance in a 1-0 victory over Chelsea in the Community Shield at Wembley.

Cech, who is as alert on Twitter as he is in his own penalty area, spotted Morgan’s tweet and responded with his usual touch of class.
@piersmorgan glad to hear that 😄👍

Unsurprisingly, Morgan was ecstatic to receive an acknowledgement from the Arsenal goalkeeper, although Cech could be bumped down the pecking order if Karim Benzema completes a move to Emirates Stadium.
