Arsenal legend Thierry Henry says Chelsea target Pedro Rodriguez is the perfect target
Thierry Henry says Chelsea target Pedro Rodriguez is the “perfect team-mate”.
The Barcelona forward looks set to join the Premier League champions in a £21.1m deal after Manchester United ended their interest in the World Cup winner on Wednesday.
He’s a team player who had exactly what you would love to have as a team-mate, as a player, or if you’re the boss
Pedro has won five La Liga titles, the Champions League three times and four Copa del Rey crowns during a nine-year career in the Barcelona first-team.
And former Arsenal striker Henry, who was team-mates with Pedro for two seasons, spoke about the qualities that the Spain international will bring to Jose Mourinho’s side.
Henry told Sky Sports: “”The perfect team-mate, the perfect professional – he is that guy.
“He pressures from the front, but he’s also the player that any manager would love to have. You know what you’re going to get with Pedro, always 100 per cent.
“The way he plays, the way he trains, he doesn’t talk, he doesn’t create any problem for you, he’s a team player who had exactly what you would love to have as a team-mate, as a player, or if you’re the boss.”
Pedro has scored 99 times in 321 appearances in all competition for the Catalan side since making his debut in 2008.
The Barcelona star was also part of the Spain side that won the 2010 World Cup and 2012 European championship.
Chelsea have signed Radamel Falcao, Gary Cahill and Baha Rahmann in the summer transfer window so far.
