Arsenal transfers: Arsene Wenger hints at late signings
Arsene Wenger hints that he is open to bringing in new players to Arsenal before Tuesday's transfer deadline
Arsene Wenger has hinted that Arsenal could be set for a busy transfer deadline day as the Frenchman looks to bolster his squad before the close of the summer window next week.
The Gunners have been linked with a host of players during the summer months as Wenger looks to guide his side to a genuine Premier League title challenge.
Arsenal have so far only brought in Petr Cech from Chelsea but continue to be linked with a host of players, including Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema and Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain.
And Wenger has suggested that the north London club could be active on transfer deadline day, with the summer window set to close next Tuesday at 18:00 BST.
Wenger told a news conference on Thursday morning: “I’m always confident that a last minute solution is available because the transfer market especially moves in the last four, five days.
“But at the moment I cannot promise you that.”
