Arsenal transfers: Shareholder claims ‘advanced’ Karim Benzema talks

Piers Morgan has claimed that Arsenal are in “advanced” talks to sign Karim Benzema from Real Madrid this summer.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with a bid to sign the France international in recent days as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his attacking options at Emirates Stadium before the close of the summer transfer window.

The reports linking Benzema with a big-money move to Arsenal have continued despite Wenger’s public insistence that there is nothing concrete behind the speculation.

However, Arsenal shareholder and celebrity fan Morgan has now claimed that the north London side have made their interest in signing Benzema clear and are in advanced talks over signing the Real Madrid star.

Morgan tweeted on Friday evening:

Earlier in the day, Morgan also urged Wenger to try and seal a deal for Benzema:
