Bastian Schweingsteiger planning Man United Oktoberfest trip with Wayne Rooney
Bastian Schweingsteiger is already thinking about taking his new Manchester United pals to Oktoberfest
Bastian Schweingsteiger has revealed that he has already spoken to Wayne Rooney about the possibility of a Manchester United trip to beer festival Oktoberfest.
The world-famous festival, which runs for 16 days in Munich each year and starts in September, is a favourite amongst Bayern Munich players.
And Schweingsteiger, who joined United from Bayern Munich earlier this summer, says that he has already thought about planning a team trip to Germany.
“I spoke to Rooney and discussed the possibility of me inviting the team to Oktoberfest but I don’t know how much time we’ll have,” Schweingsteiger is quoted as saying by Metro.
The Germany international was a second-half substitute and played the final 30 minutes as Louis van Gaal’s men claimed a 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in their Premier League opener on Saturday.

Kyle Walker’s first-half own goal was all that separated the two sides in the first game of the 2015-16 campaign.
United were drawn against Club Bruges in their Champions League play-off clash on Friday as the Red Devils look to qualify for the group stage of Europe’s elite club competition.
