Chelsea transfers: Jose Mourinho hints at late signings

Jose Mourinho says he is still open to bolstering his Chelsea squad before the close of the summer transfer window

Jose Mourinho has hinted that he is still looking to bolster his Chelsea squad before the close of the summer transfer window next week.

The Blues have already brought in Pedro Rodriguez from Barcelona, as well as signing Radamel Falcao on loan from Monaco this summer.

However, Chelsea continue to be heavily linked with a transfer swoop for Everton centre-half John Stones, who this week had a transfer request rejected by the Toffees as he attempts to force through a move to the west London club.

And although Mourinho says he would be happy with his squad if he ends up unable to bring in any more players before Tuesday’s deadline, he is still open to bolstering his options at Stamford Bridge.

Mourinho told a news conference at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground on Friday afternoon: “If I get another player at the end of the market, good. If not, the squad that I have is good.”
