Sergio Romero Shaky start but did well under pressure. Great save just before half-time. Proved himself as the game went on. 6/10
Matteo Darmian Important block in the first half to deny Brugge from scoring. Goes from strength-to-strength each game and is a force to be reckoned with in United’s new defence. 7
Chris Smalling Again his partnership with Blind proved important. Smalling continues to shine. 6
Daley Blind Defended well but almost conceded with a bad touch in the first half. United may need to work slightly more to convert Blind to a centre-half. Was quick in tracking back. 5
Luke Shaw Had a chance through on goal early on in the game but could not convert the chance. Defended well throughout. 6
Ander Herrera Given a yellow card early on. Scored to make it 4-0 and seal the tie for the Red Devils before being substituted. 6
Michael Carrick It is clear United still need their faithful player as he is commanding in the holding midfield role. Played well throughout the game. 7
Juan Mata Got the assist for the Rooney. Proves he is a vital player for United in the midfield as he controlled the game. 7
Adnan Januzaj Was no where to be seen in the first half. Was unfortunately subbed at half-time so could not prove himself in the second half. 4
Memphis Depay Kept on performing to a high standard and provided a slick pass for the assist for Rooney’s goal. He missed a fantastic chance to put the tie to bed but was defended well from Brugge. However, his wing play remains nothing short of spectacular. 7
Wayne Rooney (Man of the match) Eventually ended his goal drought with an opener in the 20th minute. Scored a hat-trick in the game. Could open the floodgates for the forward to continue scoring. 8
