Darren Anderton: Tottenham can’t afford to lose Hugo Lloris to Man United
Darren Anderton says Tottenham cannot afford to lose Hugo Lloris this summer amid link to Manchester United
Darren Anderton believes that Tottenham cannot afford to lose Hugo Lloris this summer as the goalkeeper continues to be linked with a transfer to Manchester United.
The France international’s future at White Hart Lane has been a subject of speculation in recent weeks after Spurs finished fifth last season and failed to secure a spot in the Champions League.
United are thought to be ready to consider a bid for the shot-stopper should David De Gea secure a transfer to Real Madrid in the coming weeks.
However, former Tottenham midfielder has warned the north London club that they must do all they can to keep hold of the 28-year-old.
Asked if Tottenham can afford to lose Lloris, Anderton told The Sport Review: “I don’t think so. He was unbelievable last year.
“All the talk was about Harry Kane but you have to say Lloris was right up there with his performances. He is one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
“I wouldn’t like to think he could be on his way.”
