Ferdinand and more: Twitter hails Man United defender Shaw
Rio Ferdinand and Michael Owen heap praise on Manchester United defender Luke Shaw after his performance at Swansea
Luke Shaw was one of the few Manchester United players to emerge with credit after the defender’s impressive performance at Liberty Stadium.
The England international played a key part in Juan Mata’s opener after the 20-year-old full-back surged down the left wing before he crossed for the Spain international to break the deadlock in the 48th minute.
And although goals from Andre Ayew and Bafetimbi Gomis inflicted United’s first defeat of the Premier League season, past and present Premier League stars were quick to lavish praise on the United left-back.
Retired United centre-half Rio Ferdinand is tipping Shaw to be a regular on the Red Devils’s left wing for the next 10 years:
Luke Shaw is the real deal. 10yrs quality service he will give barring injury

Former England and United striker Michael Owen agrees with his old team-mate Ferdinand:
Luke Shaw has been top class so far this season. England could have another world class left back for years to come. https://t.co/yoFnStEp1W

Even Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish recognises Shaw’s undisputed talent:

Finally, Savage’s BT Sport colleague Darren Fletcher is impressed with the England defender’s start to the season:
