Ian Wright: Arsenal million miles away from Premier League title
Arsenal legend Ian Wright says the Gunners aren't close to winning the Premier League title this season after shock defeat
Arsenal are a million miles away from winning the Premier League title, according to Ian Wright.
The Gunners suffered a defeat in their first Premier League game of the season after Cheikhou Kouyate broke the deadlock in the 43rd minute before Mauro Zarate doubled the Hammers’s lead in the second half.
We are a million miles away

Arsenal already trail Manchester United by three points, whilst Arsene Wenger’s men were unable to capitalise on Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Swansea City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.
And former Gunners striker Wright doesn’t believe Wenger’s side are close to a title challenge despite talk of signing Petr Cech from Chelsea transforming Arsenal into title contenders.
Wright wrote on BreatheSport: “What an anti ******* anti climax ! So disappointing. We are a million miles away. There’s no pressure in trying to catch a Chelsea! The pressure is trying to lead a Chelsea.”
The Hammers edged into a first-half lead after Cheikhou Kouyate beat Cech to a set-piece delivery and guided a header past the stranded Arsenal goalkeeper.
West Ham forward Mauro Zarate doubled the away side’s lead in the second half after the Uruguay international caught Cech out at his near post on his Emirates Stadium debut.
