The 18-year-old defender was named in Gareth Southgate’s squad for their upcoming games against USA Under-23s and Norway Under-21 next month.
Gomez has impressed for Liverpool this season after having helped the Reds keep three successive clean sheets against Stoke City, Bournemouth and Arsenal.
And the young left-back, who moved to Anfield in a £5m deal from Charlton Athletic earlier this summer, took to social media to celebrate his call-up.
Honoured to get my first England U21 call up. Thanks for the messages!
