Liverpool transfers: Aymen Abdennour open to move, says agent
Aymen Abdennour's agent says that the defender is open to a move away from Monaco this summer
Liverpool and Arsenal have been handed a boost in their reported pursuits of Aymen Abdennour after the player’s agent revealed that his client is keen to quit Monaco and move abroad.
Abdennour has been linked with a transfer to the Premier League in recent weeks, with Tottenham Hotspur also reported to be among the clubs keeping tabs on the defender.
Italian side Juventus have also been touted as a possible destination for the Tunisian defender in recent days.
Now, the player’s agent has said that his client would be open to a move away from the Ligue 1 club before the close of the summer transfer window, with a switch to Serie A appearing to be the player’s preferred choice.
Abdennour’s agent is quoted as saying by the Daily Express: “There are no problems with [manager Leandro] Jardim or the club.
“But the truth is that Abdennour wants to leave. He wants a new adventure, and there are opportunities in Spain, Italy and England.
“The priority would be Serie A, he would like that a lot.
“There’s been some contact, with Milan for example [who couldn’t sign him until 2016, due to rules on non-EU players], and Roma and Inter showed some interest too.
“Juventus? No, I can’t confirm that. What’s clear is that the lad’s intention is to leave.”
Liverpool kicked off their Premier League campaign with a 1-0 win at Stoke City, while Arsenal suffered a surprise 2-0 loss to West Ham on Sunday.
