Liverpool transfers: Brendan Rodgers rules out any departures
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says there will be no outgoings at Anfield in the remainder of the window
Brendan Rodgers says Liverpool won’t be allowing any players to leave Anfield before the end of the summer transfer window.
Italy international Fabio Borini has been linked with a move to West Ham United in recent days following the arrival of Christian Benteke in a £32.5m deal from Aston Villa.
Similarly, Liverpool flop Mario Balotelli has been linked with a return to Serie A after having failed to impress for the Reds since his £16m from AC Milan last summer.
But Liverpool manager Rodgers, whose side will face Stoke City in their opening game of the season at Britannia Stadium on Sunday, gave an update on any potential outgoings in his squad.
“Nothing on outgoings at this stage. Every player knows exactly where they stand. It’s unfair to talk about any individuals,” Rodgers told his pre-match media conference at Melwood training ground on Friday afternoon.
Rodgers has signed eight players in the summer transfer window after a disappointing sixth-place finish last season.

The Liverpool manager signed Benteke in his most-expensive deal of the window, as well as Roberto Firmino in a £29m transfer from Hoffenheim.
