Man United legend reacts to reports David De Gea could join Real Madrid

Manchester United legend Andrew Cole runs rule over latest reports linking David De Gea with Real Madrid move

Andrew Cole says he would wish David De Gea all the best if the Manchester United goalkeeper does complete a move to Real Madrid.

According to Sky Sports pundit Guillem Balague and Times journalist Rory Smith, the Red Devils have re-entered talks with Los Blancos over the potential sale of De Gea.

The Spain international has featured for the Red Devils this season amid continued speculation surrounding his future, giving Sergio Romero a chance to claim the No1 spot.

And former United striker Cole insists he would hold no grudges if the club’s reigning player of the year finally sealed a big-money move to the Spanish capital.

Another ex-United player, Danny Higginbotham, was surprised to read the latest transfer speculation, admitting that he expected the Red Devils to keep De Gea.

Van Gaal’s side suffered their first defeat of the Premier League season after a 2-1 loss to Swansea City on Sunday afternoon.
