Man United should sign Hugo Loris ahead of Jasper Cilissen, says ex-Red Devils
Former Manchester United goalkeeper Mark Bosnich says the Red Devils should target Hugo Lloris
Manchester United should sign Hugo Lloris ahead of Jasper Cilissen as a replacement for David De Gea, according to Mark Bosnich.
The Spain international didn’t play in the 1-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday amid continued reports linking the 24-year-old shot stopper with a move to Real Madrid.
United manager Louis van Gaal is reportedly keen to sign his former Netherlands goalkeeper Cilissen as a replacement for De Gea should the club’s player of the year complete a move to the Spanish capital.
And former Red Devils goalkeeper Bosnich believes the 20-time English champions should target Tottenham captain Lloris if Van Gaal wants to add another goalkeeper to his squad.
“I’m not 100 per cent certain about him [Cillessen]. I think he did OK at the World Cup [for Holland], but he’s not one who stands out in terms of being dominant,” Bosnich told talkSPORT.
“The English Premier League is definitely the most physically demanding in the world and it takes foreign players quite a while to adjust to that.
“We saw during [David] De Gea’s first season, it was a bit of a struggle. Lloris knows the Premier League inside out and he’s had success.”
The Red Devils are reported to value their player of the year at £25m after having signed the shot stopper in an £18m deal from Atletico Madrid in 2011.
