Man United transfers: Angel di Maria ‘very happy’ to join PSG

Manchester United club-record signing Angel di Maria is on the brink of a move to Paris Saint-Germain

Angel di Maria says he is very happy to be joining Paris Saint-Germain after the Manchester United winger completed a medical at the Ligue 1 champions on Tuesday.

The Argentina international has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford throughout the summer transfer window despite Louis van Gaal indicated Di Maria has a United future.

However, the 27-year-old, who moved the Red Devils in a British record £59.7m deal from Real Madrid last summer, failed to link up with the Red Devils squad in the United States for their pre-season tour.

“I am very happy to join Paris Saint-Germain,” Di Maria is quoted as saying by talkSPORT.

“What I know about PSG is that they are a team who have won all possible titles in France last season. They’re very important.”

The former Benfica winger scored four times in 32 appearances in all competitions last season.

Di Maria won La Liga, the Champions League and two Copa del Rey trophies during a five-year stay at The Bernabeu.
