Man United transfers: Louis van Gaal hints at late signings at Old Trafford
Louis van Gaal has refused to rule out the possibility of bolstering his Manchester United squad before the close of the transfer window
Louis van Gaal has refused to rule out the possibility of bolstering his Manchester United squad before the close of the summer transfer window on Tuesday.
The Red Devils have already brought in five new faces this summer, including the likes of Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven and World Cup winner Bastian Schweinsteiger from Bayern Munich.
Despite their busy summer, however, United continue to be linked with a host of players as Tuesday’s 18:00 BST deadline looms large.
The Red Devils are still thought to be keen on bringing a striker to add cover for Wayne Rooney following the departures of Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao after the end of last season.
And quizzed about his remaining transfer plans during his pre-match news conference at Carrington on Friday afternoon, Van Gaal gave little away but did not rule out further additions.
“We shall do announcements when we want to do it not when you want an answer,” Van Gaal told the gathered media.
Asked again later in the briefing, he replied: “The same as your colleague. When we want to do announcements we shall do it.”
Manchester United travel to Swansea City in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
