Louis van Gaal says that he is still on the lookout to sign more players this summer as he bids to guide Manchester United to a Premier League title challenge.
United have been one of the busiest clubs in the English top flight this summer, signing five new players ahead of the Dutchman’s second campaign in charge at Old Trafford.
Memphis Depay, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin, Matteo Darmian and Sergio Romero all arrived at the club ahead of last weekend’s Premier League opener against Tottenham Hotspur.
United continue to be linked with a host of players ahead of the summer transfer deadline, with the Red Devils thought to be keeping tabs on the likes of Sergio Ramos and Harry Kane.
And the Red Devils boss, whose side take on Aston Villa in their next Premier League game on Friday night, did not rule out making any more signings on Thursday.
Speaking at his pre-match news conference, Van Gaal said: “Always, our aim is to improve our squad and when it is possible we shall do it.
“I have said more than once that we only buy when we think it is a contribution for our squad.”
