Man United transfers: Neymar’s agent gives Red Devils update
Neymar's agent Phil Zahavi confirms Manchester United are in talks to sign the Barcelona striker this summer
Neymar’s agent has confirmed Manchester United have made a sensational play to sign the Barcelona striker.
The Red Devils were linked with a shock move for the Brazil international over the weekend after United missed out on Pedro Rodriguez, who moved to Chelsea in a £21.1m deal.
Louis van Gaal is thought to be eager to bolster his attacking options at Old Trafford after current centre-forward Wayne Rooney failed to find the net in his opening three games.
And Neymar’s agent Phil Zahavi revealed that the Red Devils are in talks over a surprise swoop for the Barcelona star.
“It is normal such a giant club as Manchester United would wish to win the services of Neymar, the best player in the world,” Zahavi is quoted as saying by The Sun.
“It would be astonishing if United pulled off such a coup, but they are making a play for him.”
Neymar has scored 31 goals in 55 La Liga appearances for Barcelona over the past two seasons.
The Brazil forward has won La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League since his move to the Catalan side from Santos in 2013.
Neymar, 23, has already netted 44 times in 65 Brazil appearances.
