Man United transfers: Pedro Rodriguez urged to ignore Red Devils
Hristo Stoichkov urges Pedro Rodriguez to ignore the advances of Manchester United this summer
Pedro Rodriguez has been urged to ignore Manchester United’s interest in signing him from Barcelona this summer by Hristo Stoichkov.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a transfer bid to bring the 28-year-old forward to Old Trafford in recent days as Louis van Gaal looks to bolster his attacking options at the club.
The latest media reports have claimed that United are prepared to meet Pedro’s £22m release clause as they bid to secure his services before the close of the summer transfer window.
However, Barcelona legend Stoichkov believes that Van Gaal is “destroying” United and says that Pedro would be better off staying at Camp Nou.
Stoichkov is quoted as saying by the Independent: “I would never be under the orders of [Louis] Van Gaal. He’s mediocre. He destroyed Barca and is destroying Man United.
“With what he has done to [Victor] Valdes he has shown he is a bad person. Hopefully Pedro listens to me and doesn’t leave.”
United kicked off their Premier League campaign with a 1-0 home victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils are next in action when they take on Aston Villa in the Premier League on Friday night.
