Manchester United target Sergio Ramos says he is happy to secure another five years at his Real Madrid home
Sergio Ramos says he is happy to extend his stay at Real Madrid despite interest from Manchester United.
The Spain international put pen to paper on a new five-year deal with Los Blancos on Monday morning to end the uncertainty surrounding his future in the Spanish capital.
The 29-year-old was thought to be top of Louis van Gaal’s list in his hunt for new centre-half, with Real Madrid also keen on United goalkeeper David De Gea.
But Ramos dealt United a blow on Monday after the World Cup winner took to Twitter to celebrate his new Madrid contract.

Louis van Gaal has made five signings this summer in a busy transfer window for the 20-time English champions so far.
The Dutchman recruited Netherlands international Memphis Depay in a £25m deal from PSV Eindhoven in May.
The United managed has also added goalkeeper Sergio Romero, Germany international Bastian Schweinsteiger, Torino full-back Matteo Darmian and Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin to his squad.
