Man United transfers: Stan Collymore runs rule over Sadio Mane

Former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore runs rule over Manchester United target Sadio Mane

Stan Collymore has warned Manchester United that Southampton forward Sadio Mane is not good enough for the Champions League.

The Red Devils are reportedly interested in the Saints man after an impressive 12 months at the south-coast club since his move to St Mary’s from Red Bull Salzburg in 2013.

The Red Devils were left frustrated in their pursuit of Spain international Pedro Rodriguez after the World Cup winner joined Chelsea in a £21.1m deal earlier this month.

While Collymore believes Mane would be a good option to improve the Red Devils in the Premier League, the former Liverpool forward reckons the Senegal international is lacking in Champions League quality.

Mane scored 10 goals in 32 games of Southampton in his first season in the Premier League last term.

The Southampton forward moved to St Mary’s in a £11.8m deal from Swiss side Red Bull Salzburg last summer.
