Man United transfers: Thomas Muller discusses ‘crazy’ speculation
Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller is relaxed about his future despite reported interest from Manchester United
Thomas Muller has moved to play down “crazy” speculation linking the Bayern Munich forward with a move to Manchester United this summer.
The Germany international has emerged as a target for Louis van Gaal as the United manager looks to add more competition for Red Devils captain Wayne Rooney up front.
Muller opened his account for the 2015/16 campaign on Friday night after the striker scored twice in an impressive 5-0 victory over Hamburg in their season opener last week.
And the World Cup winner insisted that he is relaxed about his Bayern future despite being linked with a move to the Premier League.
“It’s basically crazy, the current numbers being talked about in football,” Muller is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
“That’s just the nature of the business, though, therefore I’m very relaxed.
“In Dresden a fan recently approached me with a megaphone and said ‘Hey Mr €100 million man, how much is your jersey worth?’ I just smiled.”
The 25-year-old is reportedly valued at £71.2m by the German champions.
United have already snapped up Bastian Schweinsteiger from Bayern Munich this summer as Van Gaal looks to transform his side into genuine Premier League title contenders next season.
However, former Red Devils target Pedro Rodriguez joined defending champions Chelsea on Thursday.
